Ever since we left them to begin enjoying their newest room surroundings, they have rediscovered any lost affection for where they live – two true living space love stories.
A love-filled February is a timely moment to talk about how these real-life fairy tales came to being.
Dishing up a dedicated dining space
Eight years on from first occupying their house, the Cartwrights had started to struggle for space and with no urge to relocate to a bigger property, looked to see how the building could be expanded.
The current kitchen-diner was a favourite room of the couple, but they longed for an autonomous dining area that would capture lots of natural light and exude an outdoor-like feel.
A journey to one of our showrooms was rewarded with just the thing they were looking for – a glass roof conservatory built to almost the exact proportions they wanted and ready to be customised.
County had the all-round competency
“We didn’t like the idea of multiple tradespeople from different companies working on the conservatory, so knowing County could handle everything themselves was a big plus point.
“Their industry expertise was clearly evident when we pressed them for advice and it made us confident that they wouldn’t put a foot wrong and do the best possible job.
“Any fears about the conservatory getting cold in winter because of the wealth of glass were quickly alleviated once we started using the space, and we’ll often be found in it on a Sunday morning with a cup of coffee.”
Foresight results in extended living
A prerequisite for the Morleys as they were searching around for a new house was finding somewhere they could extend in the future and they located just the place, advancing with their plans upon being given the news that a new baby was on the way.
They envisioned an open plan room encompassing a lounge/living/dining area for cooking and entertaining guests where there would be sufficient space for the impending arrival to play.
A call was put in to County for assistance and we carried out a home visit so that we could inspect the prospective location for the extension. A few days on from our departure, the Morleys repaid the compliment and visited their local County showroom, which gave them great insight into what was possible.
Our technology sold the project
“Not for one second did we imagine the software would actually let us properly visualise the glass roof orangery, inside and outside, digitally superimposed onto an image of our home.
“Nothing was too much trouble for the County team who controlled every aspect of the job, including the organising of building regulations, and had it constructed within only six weeks of us committing to the work.
“It has exactly the uplifting ambience that we were after, becoming beautifully illuminated in the day, and we get great pleasure out of watching our young child from its confines.”
