County are always looking for professional people in a wide range of positions including, fitting, design consultants and customer service advisor.

We currently employ professional people in a wide range of positions including, fitting, design consultants and customer service advisors. Simply view our current vacancies and either contact our Head Office on 0800 542 6103 or use our online form below.

If you are hardworking, passionate to succeed and own a desire to earn up to or beyond £80k-£100k commission, then working for one of the top home improvement companies within the South East should be your next career move.

Have I got your attention?

Working in an established business of over 40 years means we know what we are doing, have a superb range of products, three showrooms and are still growing (up 17% YOY).

We have just recruited 4 more operational, admin and customer staff but for sales, I need 3 more highly driven self employed sales advisors to work qualified passive leads within the South East; particularly around our showroom in Tunbridge Wells but also for our showrooms in Haywards Heath and the flagship supercentre in Heathfield.

Just 3 additional self-employed Sales Advisors to join my hugely successful sales team who want to help me develop the next phase of our expansion plans. Is one of them you?

…must be highly driven, hungry and adaptable as a Sales Professional with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets. If you have experience in direct sales of home improvement products, you will be a valuable asset to our team immediately. However, I welcome talented individuals from both within and outside of the industry if you have worked in other areas of direct sales and have the proven track record I seek.

You’ll need your own car and there is travelling to client’s homes involved but I and my team try to keep you nearer to your home area depending on your current location.

You will have the opportunity to learn from the best in the business. You must be smart and professional as you will be setting the first impression of our company. Excellent numerical skills, good problem-solving skills, and basic IT skills are required. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate the customer.

If you’ve done this before, I respect you may have certain preferred products already. But I will train you or any other successful applicant to cross and up sell which will maximise your opportunity. Of course, you may occasionally have evening calls to make and also see some client’s weekends. But then you’ll also be working your own hours as a self-employed advisor so you can fit this work in around your home or social life too. So long as you are flexible and willing to take on board what we do and how we do it, I will help you be a success.

In fact I took on two new recruits in January and February who hit sales of £175k between them in their first month and they continue to exceed my expectations, so I have the leads and am able to get the best from you IF you have the ability to advise and confidently desire to sell and can close. Come and join them!

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Assistant Conservatory Building Manager (moving to taking over as Building manger) to join our team based in Heathfield East Sussex.

You will be helping the current Build Manager to control all aspects of conservatory basework groundwork and brickwork teams and control and oversee finishing works. The successful person for this permanent role will receive a competitive salary plus performance bonus and a company van.

We want this role to lead to taking over as the Build Manager within 6 months depending on your performance, with an enhanced pay achievement. So your progression is entirely in your hands. The current Build Manager will remain with the group, helping you out but moving to focus on the fenestration installations. So this is an addition role to the company.

Ideally you will have held a similar role elsewhere or similar proven experience.

You have worked in the building industry, probably on small to medium works and must know how to take off and schedule materials and engage labour for sites then oversee the build and trades to a quality finish, on time and on budget.

Working across multiple small sites with a works value reflecting it is mainly conservatory base works and finishing, you will generally visit several sites each morning, perhaps attend a site survey with our fenestration surveyor, before returning to the office to manage any administration needed to chase or organise building control visits and progress our planning applications with Assent or JHAI. You will not be preparing planning applications. We have a consultant for that!

You need to own the projects and the role and want to rise up to the more senior role that recognises the learned experience you bring with you and that you will have demonstrated to us.

The ability to recognise a solution when it is needed and not be afraid to voice your opinion, you will find (if needed) and lead the build teams to deliver the quality we seek, while engaging with clients.

Managing your budgeted costs is critical to the role so supplier pricing needs to be qualified and checked. Also able to explain to clients when an unexpected issue will affect their own budget and advising them what the cost impact is. Calculating those costs from rate sheets and adding the additions to the contract will be something you have managed before.

You will be working with the fenestration surveyors and the sales advisor from the initial survey, to handing over to the installs manager who will oversee the fenestration installs, before taking control again for finishing works and handover to the client.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Help with management of the entire project from delivery to installation and aftercare
  • appointing and allocating work to your build teams
  • Ability to project manage building works and sub-contractors
  • Managing customer payments and balances
  • Scheduling any lingering service work quickly for close off and payment
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Ensuring Planning, Building Regs and Building Control compliance
  • Management reporting and budgeting
  • To ensure first-hand knowledge of each installation project you control

Essential skills

  • Exceptional Customer service and communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the industry, including installation projects management
  • Good knowledge of building control requirements and reporting, the planning process and structural issues which our support consultants can then resolve.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of relevant building works controls and procedures
  • Ability to recruit (if needed) maintain and develop the building support teams to deliver on time and on budget. So an amiable likeable manner is important.
  • Exceptional time management and cost and budget management experience
  • Manage safety requirements and risk assessments

Job Type: Full-time

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 17.00
  • No weekend works are usual but may occur on the odd occasion
  • Salary: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

  • Casual dress
  • Company car
  • Company pension
  • Employee discount
  • Life insurance
  • On-site parking

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • East Sussex: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Small works building: 4 years (preferred)
  • managing budgets and costs: 2 years (preferred)
  • proven site management: 2 years (preferred)

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
