We Have The Solution For Rising Energy Bills: Energy Efficient Windows & Doors

Cut your energy bills

With the price of everything on the increase, it’s certainly not easy being a homeowner right now, with the increase in energy prices particularly concerning.

The fact that the price cap, the most an energy company can charge for gas and electricity, has increased 54% is shocking.

From the beginning of April, the price cap was raised from £1277 to £1971. But it doesn’t end there. It’s expected to rise even further in October, with experts estimating the new price cap could be as much as £2600.

Unfortunately, even if you shop around for cheaper energy suppliers, you will find little to reduce your bills. The cheapest fixed tariff is currently £2800.

Fortunately, we have some advice to help the situation.

Before the price cap rises again in October, get energy efficient windows and doors installed by County in the next six months.

You will find that this is the best long-term solution to current and future price rises.

Energy Efficient Windows

Nearly one fifth (18%) of heat loss is caused by poorly insulated windows, as it escapes through the glazing and around the frames.

If you are interested in testing the performance of your windows, hold a candle close to them to check if the candle flickers. If it does, you can be sure they aren’t performing as well as they should be. Similarly, if you notice moisture or mould and cracks in the sealant, you are losing a large percentage of heat through your windows.

We have a number of A+ rated energy efficient windows, including our exclusive Extreme windows. Not only will they stop heating from escaping, but they will make use of the sun’s rays to further heat your home. On average, modern replacement windows can save you £170 per year.

Energy Efficient Doors

You may be surprised to know that you could be losing a similar percentage of heat from your outdated front and back doors also. This has been estimated at 15%. To be sure your doors aren’t causing you to lose an unnecessary amount of heat, complete the same checks we previously mentioned.

As established by current Building Regulations, replacement doors and their components must have a U-value of 1.8 W/m². A U-value calculates the rate and level of heat that is able to pass through your doors.

At County, our doors easily satisfy U-value regulations with the lower value, the better. You can be confident that our doors save you money in the long run.
